Selection of the week : The Ethiopian Journey / A travel into the Ethio sound of Addis-Abeba back in the 70's
Hi dear readers !
I'm actually in the Southern France (remember St Tropez ?) for 2 weeks, tanning near the deep blue sea, drinking ti punchs and mojitos, but I've prepared something special for you !
I wanted for a loooong time to do an Ethiopian selection, (but I wouldn't because I think the Ethio sound is too "a la mode"..), so here are 9 tracks taken from several seven inches intended to make you (re)discover the beauty and the deepness of the Ethio sound from the 70's.
Ethio Jazz, Ethio soul, Ethio groove or Ethio funk, nevermind how you can call it, this music sounds like no other, because of the Ethiopian Pentatonic scale, that was a source of inspiration for many musicians of all genre.
Hope you'll like it !

New Selection : Bon baisers de Fort-de-France : A Selection of Fine Biguines and Jazzy Tracks From the French West Indies
Hi everyone !!!
It's a reaaaal pleasure to be here with you after these 2 months !!!! Sincerely sorry for the delay, too much work (yes I have a job), and just the time for me to dig for my dear readers some records from all over the world : Zambian records, Ethiopian stuff, records from Turkey, Morrocco, Guyana..
So to celebrate the rebirth of this blog, I've prepared one (short) selection (yes, from now I will select only 6 records for each mix, to avoid a too long and boring stuff !) of Carribean Biguines and Jazzy tracks from several records taken from the 30's to the 80's - Enjoy the ride !
Next week we'll travel to Mali,
Sincerely yours,
Armand

Selection of The Week : Luk Thung Fever - A Journey Into the Thai 60's and 70's Sound
Hi everyone !
It's been a long time, right ?
Sincerely sorry, I was veeery busy, looking for new records for the next selections.. But now I'm back !
So let's begin the February selections with some good 7 inches I brought back for my last travel to Thailand in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket and Andaman !
So, because it's a first step for many of us into the Thai sound, I've prepared not one but to different mixes : the first is more funky and the second, more traditional (my favorite), represents more what was the Thai Sound at the time, with two main musical genre : Molam and Luk Thung - Enjoy !
Special Merci to Miles Cleret from Soundway Records and all the Zudrangma Team
