In 1964, a group of 7 students originated from Mali travelled to Cuba, to receive a musical training at the Alejandro Garcia Catura de la Havane conservatory, and to study there.
In July 1965, they created a band, "Les Maravillas de Mali", and began to perform in La Havane and, more, all over Cuba (Victoria de las Tunas, Camaguey, Las Villas..).
This song, "Chez Fatimata" is taken from their first album, full of Boogaloos, Montunos, Guarachas and Boleros and recorded in 1968 in La Havane.
A very sweet and interesting album, that perfectly shows the African knowledge in Latin music, and so early in African recording music history !! Enjoy !!

We are a group/collective of African music enthusiasts that have monthly gatherings called MD&D (Midnight Dinner & Debates) for purpose of sharing and holding listening sessions of forgotton musical gems from our personal record collections.
One theoretical question that pops up at near every listening session is, "I wonder what prized musical gems Armand de Preseau would play at a listening session?"
With that in mind, I thought I'd take a shot in the dark and reach-out to find out if you'd be interested in live broadcast/livestreaming any of your collected music to one of our MD&D gatherings that we hosting on 31st December?
I know, this is totally random, not to mention short-notice, but we are massive fans of your published collections and we think this would be really awesome fun! That is to say, hosting Armand de Preseau via livestream...
Feel free to let me know if this would be possible? Or what it would take to make it possible. A bunch of us sure hope it will...
